Take Care

Selling things for little money,
take home for your kids and honey,
Hold your hat, and your food,
getting pick-pocketted is never good,
Keep your money snug and safe,
in the pocket of your pants-incase,
St. Peters Mission helps us all,
feeding Frank, and Tom and Paul,
Their poor wifes wait ill in bed,
with the children ill or dead,
Never know what happens next,
live for today forget the rest,
Make it throught this Great Deppression,
pray for not another recession.

Everyone in this little town of mine
Tries to live on very little
They work hard for cheese and wine
But, they may not even get a lousy pickle.

Male, female, black or white, if they work together we may be okay,
But black and white are separate in society.
White water fountains, and black theaters, while were separate, we might just decay.
The white folks care with great force while the black folks would just like equal rights.
Most people in this town think blacks and whites should not mingle, external image 8b32396u.preview.jpgLaura B
For they only see their superiority and not equality.
Can’t they see that we are all humans and one is not better than the other.
The only thing that makes one better is their personality, not the color of their skin.

Old ugly Edna, does real bad.
She lives on the food people throw out
Her house is everywhere but nowhere wants her
When people try to be nice to her she cannot swallow her pride,
And she gets deeper in debt and bigger in size.

The old corner store just went out of business.
The owner had embezzled money from the Dominican Republic,
But no one is supposed to know.
The favorite customer got his money from stealing, but he never stole from this store.
He stole from banks and sometimes houses, if people had any money in their home.

The time of the depression was bad for everyone.
World War II came around and it was time for change,
Women started working and blacks were accepted a tiny more in the work force.
But this town will not see the issue just yet.
